"Kharaashein" is collage poet Gulzar's literary creations based on a keen desire for communal harmony. The stories and poems are set against the backdrop of riots in India - it showcases the middle-class attitudes in a riot-torn city; the fear and its impact on the psyche of a normal; humanbeing in a state of anxiety and the development of a relationship evolving under the duress of the riot-infected atmosphere.

Ustad Ali Ahmed Hussain is a master of the Shehnai, a double reed wind instrument that is closest in timbre to the Saxophone. His stature and popularity rest on his equal mastery over classical and the traditional semi-classical and folk music repertoire of the Shehnai. He learnt from his father, the late Ustad Ali Jan, and uncles, the late Ustad Nazir Hussain and the late Ustad Imdad Hussain. He has travelled extensively in India and abroad with his Shehnai, participated in every major classical music conference, and received numerous awards and has to his his credit many recordings.

Subhen Chatterjee, brilliant diciple of Tabla maestro Pandit Swapan Chowdhury bases his style of Tabla playing on the Lucknow Gharana. Subhen also learned the intricacies & beauty of other Gharanas which has made his style of playing so unique & distinctive. Subhen has accompanied outstanding musicians such as Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Smt. Girija Devi, Pt. Jasraj, Smt. Sobha Gurtu, Pt. V. G. Jog, Pt. Rajan-Sajan Misra, Ustad Rashid Khan, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Pt.Viswa Mohan Bhatt, Ustad Ashish Khan, Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, Pt. Manilal Nag, Ustad Ali Ahmed Hussain Khan, Sri. Ronu Mazumder and many others. He has travelled widely in India and abroad and has to his credit several cassettes and discs.

Debojyoti Bose naturally inherits an unstained musical acumen, for he was born in a family of passionate musicians, on the 20th day of December 1962 at Kolkata - the citadel of Indian Classical Music. His father Pandit Biswanath Bose, disciple of Late Pandit Kanthe Maharaj of Benaras and his mother Smt. Bharati Bose, a keen Sitar player and a disciple of Mian Davir Khan, Ustad Mustaq Ali Khan and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, sowed the seed of music in him by imparting the early lessons. His elder brother Pandit Kumar Bose, a celebrated Tabla Nawaaz of international repute, also gave him the fillip to venture into the world of music. Debojyoti has been pursuing his art with an effortful spontaneity. Although he feels akin to Tabla, Sarod has been his passion since history infancy. He received vocal guidance from Sri Jayanta Bose, his second brother, a vocalist of Bishnupur Gharana.

He has received talim in Sarod for over twenty years from Ustad Amjad Ali Khan of Senia Banghas Gharana. Also he has received vocal guidance from Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra.
In 1981, he received Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan Scholarship from Sriram Bharatya Kala Kendra, Kal-ke-Kalakar award from Benaras Hindu University 1984. He was felicitated in 1989 by Rabindra Bharati University Calcutta. Awarded 'Anandalok Award' for being the best Music Director of 1999.
Debojyoti has performed at Dover Lane Music conference (Calcutta), Kal-Ke-Kalakar (Mumbai), Sarod festival (Delhi), Saptak (Ahmedabad), Sangeet Natak Academy (Chennai and Hydrabad), Tansen Samaroho (Gwalior). Toured with Sangeet Research Academy. He has visited United States in 1989 and 2000, performed in Minneapolis, Chicago, Boston, Santiago, Los Angeles etc.

KAUSIC SEN
Kausic Sen is a tabla player of Benaras Gharana. A desciple of Pt. Biswanath Bose and later became a desciple of Pt. Kumar Bose. He has accompanied with allmost all the maestroes of India. He has been travelling Europe and the USA for the last 15 years. Kausic has been accompaning Pt. Chitres Das for the last 5 years.
